Scholl Construction had the honor of being a nominated for the annual McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) Business Champion Award given out at their annual dinner this past November. For thirteen years, MCEDC has recognized outstanding companies who have made a positive impact on McHenry County’s economy. This year the finalists were companies who adjusted their focus to help the community or stepped out to create something new during the Pandemic. Scholl Construction has been a member of the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation for the past 5 years. We support their efforts to assist new and existing businesses develop a strong economic home in McHenry County. They are an advocate for the county to help bring state funds and grants to McHenry County. The MCEDC provides data to help new and expanding businesses grow. They support local workforce through education at the high school and college level so that employers can choose from a pool of talented employees close to home. We are pleased to announce that Peter Scholl is the newest member of the 2022 MCEDC Board of Directors!
Although Scholl Construction has been in their new location for a while, we had to put the 2020 ribbon cutting celebration on hold until recently. The storefront at 432 W Virginia Street, built in 1936, once housed the old magic and costume shop, Fantasy Festival. Many longtime residents of Crystal Lake will remember the purple building! We completely renovated the building; gutting and building new offices and apartments upstairs. “Our goal was to provide our company with an enhanced space from which to grow, and a better meeting space dedicated to client needs. In our quest to modernize the space we also wanted to retain the historic look and feel so we preserved features such as the vintage exposed brick and hard wood floors. Acquiring a centrally located office space was an exciting step for our business.” https://bit.ly/3EUheHi
