A Quick Makeover in Crystal Lake
This home holds a special spot in the heart of its owner. Originally built by her father, it served as the cherished backdrop for raising children and creating lasting memories. Over the years, life led them through a series of different places and homes; however, this particular property remained as a rental investment. Fast forward two decades, and it is now time to downsize and return to the Crystal Lake area—what a perfect home to come back to.
After twenty years with the same renters, it was evident that the property required a thorough refresh. Scholl Construction was engaged for a quick makeover that would breathe new life into the residence. The renovations included new flooring and carpeting throughout, updated fixtures, and fresh paint applied consistently across all areas—including the basement and garage.
The kitchen underwent a transformation with new cabinets installed alongside an additional coffee bar designed for convenience. The upstairs bathroom was revitalized with modern flooring, stylish cabinets, and an attractive design element added with a new tub tile installation. Additionally, what was once a closet and entrance from the master bedroom to the bathroom has been converted into an separate new bathroom for the master bedroom.
Particular attention was given to the first-floor powder room to not disturb the existing tile laid by the owner’s father many years ago while still achieving an updated look with new countertops, fixtures, flooring, and paint.
To enhance curb appeal further, outdoor concrete surfaces were power washed and sealed. Plans are already in motion for future enhancements to include a new patio space that will undoubtedly complement this lovingly restored home.
