Exterior Remodel, Inverness, IL
Scholl Construction was brought in to help this home owner remodel their home built in 1960 in Inverness, Illinois. The owners wanted to update and upgrade the look of the outside and add some additions to the inside. The biggest challenge was transforming the gambrel roof to a more modern look. High quality materials were used to replace the roof with cedar shakes with copper flashing.
The siding was replaced with smooth cedar and the brick updated by painting it with a fresh color. Details were added to draw the eye away from the roof line and add interest. Solid wood doors and updated lighting were added. A rear porch along with a new patio area gives the owner a quiet oasis to enjoy in their back yard. The front porch was expanded into a new laundry room and a mudroom and the kitchen windows were replaced with a new bay window. This ordinary home stuck in the sixties was upgraded to a classic!
