Commercial Renovation in Cary

The renovation of an office warehouse building into specialized laboratories for testing microplastics in water marks a significant advancement for DOD Technologies. This project, which is the third undertaken by Scholl Construction for the company within the same building, showcases a commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

The history of renovations on this site dates back over ten years when DOD first acquired the building. The initial renovations involved extensive work, completely gutting the structure and rebuilding it while preserving the bones of the building. Click here to see gallery. In 2023, Scholl Construction added a tape wiring room to enhance the original warehouse’s capabilities.

In 2025, DOD Technologies announced the completion of a major expansion into the second half of the building that was had been occupied by another business. This new operation centers on water testing for microplastics – an essential effort with today’s environmental challenges. The project entailed significant modifications, including gutting existing offices to create two state-of-the-art labs designed to meet stringent testing standards. Additionally, new offices, conference room, a kitchen area, bathrooms, and expanded warehouse space were incorporated into this transformation.
