Updated Remodel in Fox River Grove, IL
This home was purchase with a remodel in mind. There was a significant amount of demolition done to this home. The walls between the kitchen and the living area were removed as well as the masonry fireplace.
The flat ceiling in the kitchen was torn out and the vaulted ceiling in the living room was extended to create a great room that includes the living room, dining area and kitchen. The laundry room was reconfigured and space from the garage was added to the living area. A bow window was added to the space where the fireplace once stood to take advantage of the wooded backyard and the native creatures it attracts. A large deck on the back of the house was removed to make way for a future patio. The basement was unfinished! The carpeting, walls and drop ceiling were removed, bringing it back to its original state.
The bathroom and master bathroom were completely remodeled and feature creative use of tile. The same style iridescent tile was used in both bathrooms; the main bathroom used subtle colors of pink and the master bathroom used subtle colors of blue. This feature was surrounded by marble patterned porcelain tile.
